About Chicagoland Reviews

Chicagoland Reviews is a directory of 420 Chicago area businesses. 418 of them are sourced from the business’s own Google Business Profile, and each Google rating is a dated snapshot of what Google showed.

Who runs Chicagoland Reviews?

Chicagoland Reviews is run by a search marketing agency, and some of the businesses listed here are that agency’s clients. Every one of the 11 businesses with Premier Placement is a client of the agency, and two listed businesses, Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm and Fall Fest and Bengtson Landscaping, belong to the family of the people who run it. These relationships do not change where a business appears in an editorial roundup, which ignores Premier Placement. They do mean that the Premier listings, which come first on the browse pages, are paid placements held by the operator’s clients.

Where do the listings and ratings come from?

For 418 of the 420 listings, the name, address, phone number, website and hours come from the business’s Google Business Profile, or from the business’s own website for details a profile does not carry. The other 2 are law firms with no Google Business Profile; their details come from the firm’s website and the Illinois lawyer register, and they show no rating. Each listing page also carries a list of sources under “Where this listing’s facts came from”.

On a listing with a Google rating, the rating panel shows the rating and review count with the date they were read, and each entry in an editorial roundup does the same. The ratings on the site now were read between October 8, 2026 and October 28, 2026.

Which reviews appear on a listing?

The reviews on a listing are Google reviews rated four or five stars, shown in the reviewer’s own words with a link back to Google. A reviewer is shown by first name and last initial, or by a shorter form or a handle. Two edits are made to the text: a sign-off that identifies the reviewer is removed, and formatting is converted to plain text. The rating beside the reviews counts every review on Google, so it can be lower than the reviews shown suggest. A review written on this site is labelled “Submitted on this site”, is shown apart from the Google reviews, and is never presented as a Google review.

How are businesses ordered?

On the browse pages and in search, Premier Placement members come first, because that position is what Premier Placement sells. Within each group, a higher Google rating comes first, then a higher review count, then the name. The editorial roundups ignore Premier Placement: they order by Google rating, then review count, then name, and a brand with several locations appears once, placed by its best rated location.

What does Premier Placement include?

Premier Placement is a paid membership. A Premier listing sorts above every non-Premier listing in its category and across the directory, and its page adds a masthead and an editorial spotlight. It does not move a business in any editorial roundup, and it does not change the Google rating the listing shows.

What does this directory not do?

Chicagoland Reviews does not vet, inspect or endorse the businesses it lists. It runs no peer review, confers no awards and measures no percentile. A rating here is what Google showed on the date given, not a judgement of the business.

How does a business correct its listing?

Open the listing and choose to claim it, or use the claim form on the membership page. A free basic listing includes requests to correct its address, phone number and website. A detail is changed when the business’s Google Business Profile or its own website shows the corrected version.
