Best-Rated Fine Dining Restaurants in the Chicago Area

This page lists the 10 fine dining restaurants in the Chicagoland Reviews directory with a Google rating snapshot of 4.0 or higher. They are ordered by that rating and then by the number of Google reviews behind it. Ratings were read from each business’s Google Business Profile on dates between 8 October 2026 and 28 October 2026. Chicagoland Reviews does not vet or rate the businesses it lists, and it does not verify the reviews Google publishes about them. Premier membership is a paid placement on this site, and it does not affect the order on this page.

A Google rating records what diners chose to write about a meal. It does not measure the cooking, the service or the value of a tasting menu, and this page does not present it as though it did.

The list includes restaurants in the city and in the suburbs, so check the address on each listing before you book. A rating drawn from many reviews and one drawn from fewer are not the same measurement, so the review count sits beside every rating.

How to read this page

The order is produced by a rule with no membership term in it: the rating snapshot first, then the review count, then the business name. Premier placement does not change the order on this page.

Every figure here is a snapshot of a public Google Business Profile on the date shown beside it. Google ratings move, so the live figure may differ from the one on this page.

How do I choose a fine dining restaurant?

Ask how the meal is served, whether the kitchen can meet your dietary needs, and what the reservation commits you to. The ratings above say how reviewers felt about a meal. They do not say which room suits an anniversary, a business dinner or a first visit. Three things to check before you book:

How the meal is served

Ask whether the restaurant serves a set tasting menu, orders from a menu, or both, and how long a meal usually takes. For a set menu, ask whether it is paid in advance and whether drinks pairings are offered.

Dietary needs and allergies

Tell the restaurant about an allergy or a dietary need when you book, not when you sit down, and ask whether a set menu can be changed to suit it.

Reservations, deposits and dress code

Ask whether a reservation needs a deposit or a card to hold it, what the cancellation policy is, and whether there is a dress code. For a larger party, ask whether the restaurant has a private dining room.
