Best-Rated Orthopedic Doctors in the Chicago Area

This page lists the 10 orthopedic surgeons and practices in the Chicagoland Reviews directory with a Google rating snapshot of 4.0 or higher. They are ordered by that rating and then by the number of Google reviews behind it. Ratings were read from each business’s Google Business Profile on 8 October 2026. Chicagoland Reviews does not vet or rate the businesses it lists, and it does not verify the reviews Google publishes about them. Premier membership is a paid placement on this site, and it does not affect the order on this page.

A Google rating measures what patients chose to write about a surgeon or a practice on Google. It does not measure surgical skill or the result of any treatment, and this page does not present it as though it did.

Some listings below are individual surgeons and others are practices or clinic locations, each with its own Google profile. The order follows the rating snapshot on each listing and then the number of reviews behind it, and the review count sits beside every rating.

How to read this page

The order is produced by a rule with no membership term in it: the rating snapshot first, then the review count, then the business name. Premier placement does not change the order on this page.

Nothing on this page describes what any surgery or treatment will do for any individual. A rating reflects what reviewers wrote about a visit, not a clinical result, and treatment decisions belong with a licensed clinician.

The reviews on each listing are the reviewers’ own words. Where a reviewer describes how an injury, a surgery or a recovery went for them, that is one person’s account, not a claim by this directory.

Every figure here is a snapshot of a public Google Business Profile on the date shown beside it. Google ratings move, so the live figure may differ from the one on this page.

Chicagoland Reviews does not vet or endorse any business listed. All review counts and ratings are arithmetic records of publicly posted Google customer reviews.

How do I choose an orthopedic doctor?

Ask who you will see, whether the surgeon is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, whether the practice is in network for your plan, and what the options are if surgery is suggested. A rating says how reviewers felt about a visit, not whether a surgeon or a treatment is right for you. Questions to ask before you book:

Who you will see

Ask whether your visit will be with the surgeon, a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner, whether the surgeon regularly treats the joint or injury you are coming in for, and whether the surgeon is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, and by which board. The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s website lets you check whether a surgeon is certified by that board, and in Illinois a physician’s license can be checked with the License Look Up on the website of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

Insurance, referrals and work injuries

Ask whether the practice is in network for your insurance plan, whether your plan needs a referral before you are seen, and, if you were hurt at work, whether the practice sees patients under workers’ compensation.

If surgery is suggested

Ask what the alternatives are, where the surgery would take place, what recovery and therapy would involve, and what you would pay. Ask for the answers in writing if that helps you compare.
