Check which style of pizza the restaurant makes, whether it serves the way you want to eat, and its most recent health inspection. The ratings above say how reviewers felt about a visit or an order. They do not say which restaurant suits a group dinner, a carryout order or a particular style. Three things to check before you order:
The style of pizza
Menus differ in the style of pizza they offer, such as deep dish, stuffed or thin crust. Check the current menu for the style you want, and if you plan to order deep dish, ask how long it takes so you can order ahead. If an allergy or a dietary need matters, such as a gluten-free crust, ask how it is prepared.
Dining in, carryout or delivery
Ask whether the restaurant has a dining room, whether it takes reservations for a group, and whether it delivers to your address itself or through a delivery service. For a large carryout order, call ahead.
Inspection results
The Chicago Department of Public Health posts its restaurant inspection results on the City of Chicago’s data portal, updated weekly, and each result reflects what inspectors found at the time of that inspection. For a restaurant outside the city, ask the local health department that serves its area.
