Best-Rated Landscapers in the Chicago Area
The order below is arithmetic, not judgement: it follows the Google rating snapshot on each listing and, where ratings tie, the number of reviews standing behind them.
A rating drawn from many reviews and one drawn from a handful are not the same measurement, so the review count sits beside every rating. A rating also cannot say whether a company does the kind of work you need or serves your town, so check both before you call.

How to read this page
The order is produced by a rule with no membership term in it: the rating snapshot first, then the review count, then the business name. Premier placement does not change the order on this page. Here a Premier member places below a listing that pays this directory nothing.
Every figure here is a snapshot of a public Google Business Profile on the date shown beside it. Google ratings move, so the live figure may differ from the one on this page.
Chicagoland Reviews does not vet or endorse any business listed. All review counts and ratings are arithmetic records of publicly posted Google customer reviews.
How do I choose a landscaper?
Ask whether the company does the kind of work you need with its own crews, ask for a written estimate and plan, and if the work includes weed or insect control, ask about the applicator’s state license. The ratings above say how reviewers felt about the work, not which company suits your yard. Questions to ask before work starts:
Design, building or upkeep
Landscaping covers design, building work such as patios and retaining walls, planting, and seasonal upkeep such as mowing and snow removal. Ask which of these the company does with its own crews and which it passes to another company.
The estimate and the plan
Ask for a written estimate that lists the plants, materials and labor included, and what guarantee covers new plants. For a patio, a wall or new planting, ask whether underground utility lines will be marked before anyone digs, and who will request the marking.
Weed and insect control
Applying pesticides for hire in Illinois requires a commercial applicator or operator license from the Illinois Department of Agriculture, and the Department’s website has a search of licensed applicators and operators. If the work includes weed or insect control, ask whether the person doing it holds that license.
Each listing gives the company’s address and contact details.
