El Che Steakhouse & Bar

Had a wonderful evening dining at El Che. Leo was our server. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. Leo was warm, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations. We used our wedding gift card that we received last year. Worth EVERY PENNY! Food was prepared perfectly and service was excellent. The bus boys were really on it by constantly replacing utensils, removing discarded dishes and attending to water service. Please understand that you literally get what you pay for. This isn’t a cheap restaurant. And it also never felt that way.…

El Che is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner John is nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing steak. Must come back. 10/10.

I went to El Che to celebrate my birthday and was really excited, especially after seeing all the great reviews. I knew I wanted to try the Mar De Plata and the steak, and thankfully, the experience was overall great! First, the service was FANTASTIC. Shoutout to Ana, who was literally the best. It was a little cold in the restaurant, and she actually brought us jackets, which was the nicest thing ever. It was such a small gesture, but it really elevated the whole experience for us. The cocktails were also really tasty. The Hot Toddys kept us nice and warm too!…

The Best Steakhouse!! Amazing service!!

We just went to El Che for my mom’s birthday. This was the second time that I went to El Che Steakhouse and Bar. The first time I visited I had the Steak Frites. And the second time that I visited, I had another steak (the wagyu NY strip) accompanied by the Japanese roasted sweet potatoes, and the roasted broccoli. I will definitely be back. The nonalcoholic drinks were great too.. followed by the dessert; 10 out of 10.

The coal-roasted oysters and the bone marrow are the two things I'd order every time

The food was so delicious, I had the lamp chomps! However, the customer service beat any other place I have ever been. Everyone was so kind and genuinely wanted you to have a good experience. Their attention to detail and follow up was top notch. Thanks to Joey, Olivia, Rene and Cristian. You guys made our day. Thank you for making my birthday an incredible experience at El Che. Best customer service ever. We will be recommending this place and coming back!

Everything was great. Liam was the waiter and he was fantastic at ensuring we know what foods met our allergy needs.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed before! One of our favorite spots in the city. Have been coming here for 10 years. The steak will melt in your mouth (whichever cut you select). The bone marrow is a must-try - with the mezcal luge, or course! The empanadas and the tartare are absolutely delightful, as are the wines. We have celebrated many things here - the high highs and low lows, and El Che has lifted us up in those low times. The vibe is cozy but fun. Food and service have been absolutely stellar. Congratulations on 10 years, cheers to many more!

This was my first time at this Chicago favorite. It was a great experience. We were greeted my Micaah. He was cheerful and seated us early. Our server Geneva was great. She had great recommendations on both the food and drink menu. The only glitch was the desserts. They missed the mark. But the resturant did not the manager Olivia came by and asked about our honest assessment of taste and quality. No establishment is perfect nor should that be the expectation ,however how you handle it is what counts. They hit all the high marks.…

Swanky restaurant with extremely low lighting. Food was amazinggggg. The branzino and gnocchi were out of this worlddd, each bite bursting with flavor. But as a southerner it would have been nice if they had some kind of hot sauce. Staff mentioned they dont have hot sauce and I found that a bit odd but it could very well be a northern thing. Service was just ok, the waitress wasn't very attentive, but the amazing food makes up for it! I'll be back

This is a classy place with food that does not disappoint. Destination wagyu steak spot. I would recommend the broccoli and wagyu steak combo with a bone marrow because they pair great. No dress code, but very friendly for dressing up. Public parking lot is across the street. We came for a place to meet up with friends and didn’t dress better than any other tourist and sat on the patio and it was a very nice vibe. Amazing food. Highly recommend.
