Girl & The Goat

Went to the tiniest goat (kitchen side prix fixe experience) with my girlfriend and it was such a delightful experience. Chase, Alex, and Jonathan took care of our every need as we had great food, drink pairing, and bits of conversation throughout our meal. They were definitely busy but the chefs and FOH were very friendly in engaging with us and Chase even so kindly made us a seasonal snack! I have to say, getting to know Alex and Chase made the food they made (our last three dishes) taste so much better. In terms of the menu there was a lot of punchy acid, playful plating, Asian influence, sprinkles of crunch, fresh produce, and solid cooking technique. I would recommend this to anyone who loves cooking and food and see the great team that Chef Steph has built! We were here in town for my husband’s birthday. Everything from the greet at the door, the service, ambience and food were a 10/10. Our server was Jonathan he made our celebration extra special. Highly knowledgeable about the menu and directed us to a fantastic meal. Chef Stephanie has done an excellent job with this restaurant over the years. Would HIGHLY recommend for foodies, locals and out of town guests.

An unforgettable dining experience in the West Loop! We loved the bold experiments and flavor combinations on the menu. The dishes were incredibly delicious, especially the Wood Oven Roasted Pig Face and the Goat Liver Mousse, which were absolute standouts. We paired our meal with a fantastic local Chicago beer, which was a great touch. From the food to the relaxed atmosphere on the patio, everything was perfect. A must-visit in Chicago!

Love the food and the family style servings. We had the naan with tzatziki, shrimp salad was amazing, chicken skewers and green beans which are a must! Overall the shrimp salad and green beans were my favorite by far, a good mix of freshness and flavorful elements.

Came from out of town and heard this place had great reviews. Easy to make a reservation and when our show was running late they were very accommodating and let us push our reservation out. It was a busy night a little loud for my taste but they sat us in a quieter corner. Service was great. Get the brioche, green beans, and chickpea fritters. The halibut and empanadas were great on their own, a simple sauce would have made them better in my opinion. Would come back but maybe with my loop earplugs lol or just earlier.

After hearing so much about the Girl & The Goat, I finally made it! It’s awesome that an amazing restaurant like this is still innovating and offering great food for more than 15 years. It’s no wonder that other restauranteurs have followed suit and established this area as restaurant row in the West Loop. Since we were all looking forward to this reservation, we made sure to try as many things as we could. We ordered multiple items that are to be shared family style. We opted for the pita & dips, chickpea fritters, sautéed green beans, roasted asparagus, pan roasted halibut, and sticky glazed pork shank. Their house Manhattan was a little sweeter than I’m used to, but it was delicious, and my mom thoroughly enjoyed her espresso martini. Since three out of the four of us were celebrating birthdays, the staff even surprised us with a sweet treat to end the meal. The interior of the restaurant was dimly lit and inviting. It was a total vibe. However, the weather was perfect so I was happy. They had a wonderful patio option. Their staff was absolutely top-notch.
