My dear wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this delightful restaurant previously. The food was truly exceptional, the service was impeccable, the ambiance was sublime, and everything was impeccable. In our second visit, we thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first, hence our intention to return soon. We extend our sincere appreciation to this modest yet professional restaurant.

Oceanique is an absolutely spectacular fine-dining destination that consistently delivers a world-class culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication and refined elegance that is truly rare to find. The menu is a masterclass in French-inspired seafood, with every single dish crafted to perfection using the freshest, highest-quality ingredients available. The flavors are complex, beautifully balanced, and presented with an artistic flair that is simply stunning. I place a very high premium on cleanliness, and the immaculate, polished state of their kitchen and dining room is truly impressive—it demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the absolute highest standards of excellence. The staff provides exceptional, highly attentive service that is professional, warm, and expertly knowledgeable about their extensive wine pairings. Whether you are celebrating a special milestone or simply looking for an unforgettable evening of top-tier gastronomy, I cannot recommend Oceanique highly enough for a genuinely peerless and memorable dining experience

I've wanted to try this restaurant for years and it did not disappoint. I had the 7 course tasting menu that allowed me to try many dishes. All were delicious. The service was wonderful. They did not keep you waiting for long periods in between dishes as many fine restaurants do. The dessert was also delicious. I highly recommended this restaurant.

Great romantic restaurant in Evanston. We had fond memories from a prior visit but were absolutely blown away by both the service and food. Classic but updated fine dining!

Wow!! We came here for our 8th anniversary and it was magical. Excellent, friendly service who didn’t miss a beat, ever. We got the 7 course meal and only had to pay a bit extra to make it for 2. Also started with happy hour oysters, yum! Every single dish blew us away starting with a cold lobster salad that just melted in my mouth. Our favorite was the sea bass in a red wine reduction. They even brought out two full size desserts! My mouth was so happy, my tummy delighted, and my mood supreme after this wonderful celebration. We will definitely be back!!

I would give Oceanique 4.5 stars. I attended Evanston’s version of Chicago’s Restaurant Week with a couple of friends. As always, the fish was prepared to perfection. The house appetizer and pate were delicious, and the in between courses sorbet a welcome touch. The chef occasionally comes out to exchange a few words with the mostly tipsy and aging crowd, a very nice gesture. The place is old school, not a bad thing, but the decor, carpet in particular, could use a revamp. The nostalgia is nice but feels a bit melancholy. Perhaps that’s the half star, which is so subjective, ambiance, but also the prices for small portions, though the place seems to take pride in that exclusivity… but then upgrade the flooring please 😬 (to be fair, one of my companions loved the lived-in old school vibe).
