We recently dined at Oriole and had such an amazing experience! The food was fantastic and atmosphere was such a relaxed but fun vibe. I had a dietary restriction we requested in advance and the team seamlessly accommodated it. I have never experienced anything like the service and kindness. Thank you Oriole and we will be back!
Exceptional dining establishment. Top 5 in US for me.
One of our best meals and experiences! At similar restaurants I typically find all dishes interesting, and several of them delicious. At Oriole every taste was both delicious and interesting. Highly recommend! We also stayed at their Loft apartment. Very spacious, great location, and has everything you need and more (washer/dryer, espresso machine, bicycles, drum set, etc.). Just note it is up one floor (two flights of stairs), it is not a hotel so don't expect a concierge or reception desk (check-in is more like an Airbnb) and there is metro noise. My spouse is a light sleeper but it didn't bother either of us. Highly recommend the Loft as well, it was great walking 30 seconds to and from dinner.
Absolutely blown away by our dinner here. Came in for the full tasting menu and every single course hit different. Started with a couple little bites at the bar first and Maddie took such good care of us right from the jump she was so sweet and gave great recs. The wagyu was insane and that sablefish literally melted in my mouth. Even the bread course had me like wow how is bread this good. The vibe is so cozy and sleek at the same time not stuffy at all service felt warm not robotic. The pacing was perfect too never rushed just a lovely slow evening. Cant believe this is right here in the West Loop. Already saving up to come back.
Well deserved Michelin stars, above and beyond service, thoughtfully designed atmosphere, every dish was a hit
This was our first fine-dining/tasting-menu experience, and Oriole absolutely delivered when it came to the experience itself. The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate, and the service was genuinely the best I have ever received at a restaurant. Every member of the staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and welcoming. From the presentation of each course to the constant resetting of silverware, drinks, towels, and all of the other small details, the level of hospitality was exceptional. I don’t think it would be fair for me to rate the food itself. My mom and I discovered pretty quickly that our palates simply do not agree with this style of cuisine. Many of the courses featured fermented, earthy, marine, or otherwise very intense flavors, and I personally picked up a prominent fishy/seafood flavor in several dishes that made them difficult for me to eat. Even some of the courses built around ingredients I normally enjoy were much more complex and strongly flavored than I’m accustomed to. That isn’t to say the food was poorly prepared. The presentation was beautiful, the amount of work and technique going into every course was obvious, and the other diners around us seemed to absolutely love it. This was simply a case of the menu and our personal tastes being almost complete opposites. I tried nearly everything and quickly learned that a modern tasting menu like this probably isn’t for me. Despite that, I have nothing but praise for the staff and the experience they provided us. They treated us exceptionally well from the moment we arrived until we left. While I probably wouldn’t personally choose this style of dining again, I’m glad we experienced it once, and I can understand why Oriole has earned the reputation it has.
This restaurant has clearly earned its Michelin stars. Service was phenomenal, dishes were exquisite, and the night was absolutely memorable. Special shout out for being able to accommodate allergies which I understand can be difficult for a restaurant with only a few seatings per night, but they handled it amazingly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to experience fine dining, and would recommend the beverage pairing too
