Sai Café

I have been coming here for over 35 years…I think. It feels like going to eat at a friend’s house and it is super great!!! I have been to their old location, saw them expanded, and moved but the quality never changed. Service is always friendly. I love Sai cafe. I do not live in Chicago anymore but when I come back to visit, I will come see Jimmy and his work family. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Chicago.

We've been customers since the early 90s. They have been around a long time and although a lot of newer restaurants get mre media attention, many clients there, like us, come weekly or even twice weekly! the sashimi is the best in terms of freshness . The dishes are beautiful and inventive. And the drinks ,wine list are higher quality! The room is beautiful and they have a fantastic patio out in the back . Definitely worth a visit, especially over many of the trendy places that have opened that are more faddish.This is a classic!

My uncle has been coming here for many years and even knew the owner, who was incredibly kind and remembered their family from all the times they used to come here together. It was such a nice personal touch to see the owner ask about his family. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had such a unique presentation that made the experience even more special. We also sat outside, which was lovely and relaxing. Great food, wonderful hospitality, and a really memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Sai is a pillar of the community. We love this place and everyone that works here. Can’t say enough good things!!
